Shaq threatens Pop?

Sports
  • San Antonio Spurs: I was watching Jim Rome today and happen to come across a soundbite by Shaq about Spurs coach Gregg Popovich. He said (via ESPN.com):
"The only thing I call cowardly is when you're up by 10 and do it," O'Neal told Phoenix radio station KTAR. "That's a coward move and [Spurs coach Gregg Popovich] knows that and I'll make them pay for it."
How exactly do plan to make the Spurs "pay for it", Shaq? By hitting your freethrows? You haven't been able to do that your entire career. Then, are you implying something else? Something more violent? Only time will tell, but I'll tell ya one thing: Spurs vs Suns this season will good viewing...for Spurs fans.
Politics
  • Great article in the National Review about how McCain supporters are being harrassed, by the "drive-by media" is totally ignoring it. Click here.
Etc.
  • Getting ready to have friends from back home stay for the weekend. It's amazing what you find in your dorm room when you take the time to clean it up.

Trouble in Dallas

Sports
  • Dallas Cowboys 4-2 (2-1 NFC East): And if things couldn't get any worse for the Cowboys, they just did. Reports have come out today that Pacman Jones has been suspended for 4 games by Gooddell, and that Felix Jones is also out with an injury. However, there was a bright spot today, as the Cowboys acquired WR Roy Williams from the Detroit Lions. Hopefully he'll be able to take a little bit of the focus off of T.O. and bring some much needed stability and reliability to this offense. With RW, I think we will be able to beat Tampa Bay now, and improve our projected record w/o Romo to 2-1.
Politics
  • A good website just popped up with some sort, simple videos exposing Barack Obama for who he really is. Click here.
Etc.
  • The cable just went out in our dorm. Life without SportsCenter doesn't feel complete.
  • An exciting weekend ahead of me, with multiple friends from high school coming up to JMU.
A much shorter entry this time, but I'm thinking that most of them will end up like this.

The First Post

Hello, and welcome to my blog. I created this with the intention of expressing various thoughts and opinions I have to whoever wishes to read them. As you can see from the title, the majority of these will deal with either sports or politics. However, there is an etc. section too, and some of the stuff I will put in there is actually what inspired me to create this. Anyways, hope you like the format, and enjoy.

Sports
(this is where I will make a run-down of my favorite teams, and go over any news or anything relating to them. don't expect much in the off season of various sports)
  • James Madison Dukes (football) 6-1 (4-0 CAA): What a season it's been so far. From the depths of despair (Duke) to the ultimate highs (App State and Richmond), the Dukes have proven that FCS football can be just as every bit exciting as FBS football. With a bye week approaching and one more major obstacle to go (Oct. 25 at Villanova), JMU is gunning right for the #1 seed in the FCS playoffs. If they go up to Nova and win, not only are they assured of a one loss season (unless they fall into a trap at Towson), but also they can make plans for a hyped up crowd at home against whoever they draw in the first round of the FCS playoffs.
  • Dallas Cowboys 4-2 (1-1 NFC East): Is time to call it a season? I can't believe I just typed that, but with Romo out for 3 games, it looks like a 1-2 stretch is ahead of us, unless the Brad Johnson of Tampa Bay walks through that locker room. And when Romo finally gets back, will the defense/special teams suddenly improve? What looked like a perfect season for the Cowboys when Tom Brady went down is slowly evolving into a nightmare.
  • James Madison Dukes (basketball): Season hasn't started yet, but with new coach Matt Brady, it'll be interesting to see how it goes this year.
  • San Antonio Spurs: Still the pre-season in the NBA, but with Ginobili out for the first part of the season, it's gonna be up to Parker and Duncan to carry the load. Hopefully former Wizard Roger Mason Jr. (UVA alum) will be able to add a much needed spark when the Spurs go through their traditional scoring droughts.
  • Baseball: Mets not in the playoffs, JMU baseball is still months away.
Politics
(this is where I will discuss various political news that I find relevant. I am a conservative Reagan Republican, incase you were wondering.)
  • Obama's been running commercials recently trying to pose himself as a "moderate" when it comes to health care. Complete and total bull crap. He wants government to take control of health care, or "Hillary-care", which will annihilate the quality of health care that we enjoy in this country.
  • It's not that McCain is the next Reagan. I didn't even vote for him in the primaries. But the fact is if you look closely at who he's running against, with Obama's poor judgement concerning connections to Rev. Wright, Ayers, and ACORN, his misunderstanding of the threat of radical Muslims to the United States and the importance of victory in Iraq, or his record as the "most liberal Senator in the United States Congress", it's more than the lesser of two evils. It's one evil who will ruin this country, and one who will keep it moving in the right direction.
  • Another Obama commercial on TV. "He supports gun rights!" Oh really? The NRA, an authority on gun rights, would tend to disagree with you. Obama supported the DC gun ban, and has a history of voting for gun control. "Criminals prefer unarmed victims."
Etc.
(this is where i write about whatever the heck I want.)
  • The reason I established this blog was not to talk about sports and politics (I put those in here to make sure I would continue the blog.) No, I made this blog for a much more important reason. You see, there's a cult called Scientology who is becoming extremely dangerous in America. Click here for more.
  • And there's a group who's fighting back. They are called Anonymous. Anon has no leader, no official organization. Anon is all about the initiative of the members in their fight against Scientology. You can help out or learn more by going here.
  • And finally...college life. What a totally new experience. I think I've finally made a successful adjustment, but it still feels...weird. I mean, I love it here at JMU, but at the same time, being away from home...just gonna take some getting used to.
Thanks for reading, since this was the first post I purposely made it really long, so don't expect essays in the future :P.
